Tourism Estates, exclusively by GERI
Global-Estate Resorts, Inc. (GERI) is a subsidiary of Megaworld Corporation, the Philippines’ leading property developer and the no. 1 office developer and landlord.
In the Megaworld group, GERI has the exclusive focus on Tourism Estates, with an expansive landbank of 3,100 hectares in major tourist destinations such as Boracay, Tagaytay, and Batangas, and more.
The evolution of excellence
GERI’s heritage of excellence began in 1994, when Fil-Estate Land, Inc. (FELI) was incorporated on May 18, and subsequently listed in the Philippine Stock Exchange in November of 1995.
On January 20, 2011, Alliance Global Group Inc. (AGI), one of the Philippines’ largest conglomerates—with interests in real estate development, the food and beverage industry, and quick service restaurants—acquired a majority stake in FELI. (At that time, FELI had commenced with the master planning of the Newcoast Station as a tourism-oriented community in Boracay.)
Following the acquisition by AGI, Global-Estate Resorts, Inc. (GERI) was established; and, in 2013, AGI subsidiary Megaworld Corporation acquired an ownership interest in the company.
Aligned with the consolidation of all of AGI’s property development businesses, Megaworld acquired AGI’s stakes in GERI by 2014, officially making the company a subsidiary of Megaworld.
The way forward: leadership in Tourism Estates and sustainable development
As the leader in integrated tourism estates, GERI’s unique frontline role in nation-building is to support the Philippine tourism industry.
For instance, GERI’S flagship developments in Boracay and Tagaytay—the Boracay Newcoast and Twin Lakes—are projected to accommodate, upon completion and full operations, an estimated 700,000 tourists yearly.
The vision of leadership runs parallel to the vision of sustainable development.
GERI’s existing landbank of 3,100 hectares in major tourist destination offers abundant nature reserves that are envisioned to become focal points of upcoming integrated lifestyle communities.
Projects such as Boracay Newcoast project bear the hallmarks of world-class sustainable property development: from structures, to systems, to the surroundings.
GERI’S expansion plans also support the government’s thrust to accelerate infrastructure developments outside of Metro Manila, creating jobs and helping drive economic growth in these areas.
